Job Description

My Commercial Banking client is looking for a Senior Programme Manager that will shape and then deliver a multi-million pound programme to achieve compliance with new regulatory capital calculations. This project will deliver the new regulations to Commercial Banking, Financial Markets and elements of Retail Banking and Consumer Finance business areas.It will sit under the wider Capital Prudential Regulation Programme (previously known as the Capital Requirements Directive Programme).

Key responsibilities:

  • Take over leadership of an existing project team (put in place within the last six months) combining Business and Group IT colleagues, growing this team where required to progress delivery
  • Refine and manage the controls and reporting required for a complex project
  • Develop and deliver a governance structure and reporting plan to ensure that the Accountable Executive, Overarching Programme Manager and senior stakeholders are adequately informed of progress
  • Ensuring that Group IT are provided with clear business requirements and that all IT architectural and infrastructure activities are understood and included in a single overarching plan 
  • Co-ordinate with senior (director level) stakeholders to ensure that the activities required to deliver the programme can be assessed and prioritised with continued and uninterrupted support of business functions
  • Implement a robust and sustainable solution to comply with regulations, working closely with the Risk and Finance teams responsible for regulatory reporting
  • Identify and manage dependencies between this and other projects delivering change to the architectural landscape during the same period
  • Lead business readiness planning
  • Delivery of Target Operating Model

Key competencies:

  • Master: A track record of successful project delivery in a banking environment and experience of project management  disciplines
  • Master: Significant experience of data focused change projects aimed at streamlining data flows and removing manual reconciliations
  • Master: Experience of managing complex dependencies
  • Master: Ability to resolve conflict and deal with difficult and demanding stakeholders
  • Master: Experience of Scrum / Agile delivery, relevant training desirable
  • Expert: Good knowledge of managing resources – both financial and people
  • Advanced: An understanding of regulatory reporting and associated IT systems and data issues.
