Operational Resilience Mobilisation
27th February 2026 ·
Albany Beck partnered with a global Banking & Capital Markets institution to embed its operational resilience framework under heightened regulatory scrutiny. While policies were defined, execution across markets, operations and technology remained fragmented, with limited traceability across trading platforms, payments infrastructure and supporting systems. We mobilised structured programme delivery to strengthen service mapping, align scenario testing to remediation and improve executive transparency – transitioning resilience from documentation to embedded operational capability.
Challenge
The bank faced increasing regulatory pressure under UK Operational Resilience policy, with incomplete mapping across front office, operations, technology and market infrastructure dependencies. Impact tolerances lacked clear linkage to systems and third parties, and scenario testing was fragmented across regions. Governance was dispersed across risk, technology and business lines, limiting board visibility and increasing regulatory exposure.
Approach
Albany Beck deployed a Programme Director supported by Operational Resilience SMEs, Business Analysts and PMO leadership to stabilise execution and centralise governance. A structured diagnostic was conducted across business service mapping, tolerance validation, third-party dependencies and testing frameworks. We introduced a consolidated programme structure aligning business lines, technology and risk under a single mobilisation plan, with defined ownership, milestone control and executive reporting cadence.
Solution
Important business service mapping was strengthened to provide clear traceability from client-facing services through to supporting applications, infrastructure and outsourced providers. Impact tolerances were refined and aligned to operational recovery capabilities and escalation protocols. Scenario testing frameworks were redesigned to simulate realistic disruption events, including technology outage and third-party failure scenarios, with outcomes directly linked to remediation planning and funding prioritisation. Resilience MI dashboards were introduced to provide executive-level transparency across tolerance alignment, vulnerability exposure and remediation progress. Governance structures were embedded into live operational oversight rather than maintained as standalone compliance documentation.
Outcomes
The bank achieved demonstrable regulatory readiness with strengthened traceability across business services, systems and dependencies. Scenario testing matured into an operational validation tool, enabling prioritised remediation of material weaknesses. Executive oversight improved through structured resilience reporting, enhancing board confidence and supervisory engagement. Operational resilience transitioned from a policy-driven framework to an embedded delivery discipline supporting sustained service continuity.
