How did you find out about Albany Beck?  

One of Albany Beck Associate Partner’s at the time (now Partner), Celia Johnson, reached out to me on LinkedIn regarding an opportunity with one of their clients – a large Irish retail bank looking for advisory resources to support the Compliance Advisory team in Dublin. Through the interview process I got a great opportunity to talk and meet with many of the key people at Albany Beck, such as Adam Kelly (Managing Partner, UK & Ireland) and Matthew Penney (Chief Operating Officer) and talk about the company’s consultancy model and its plans for the future. 

Why did you choose Albany Beck over other consultancies?  

They presented me with a great opportunity to work with the largest Irish retail and commercial bank. I had previously interviewed for this bank’s graduate programme when I finished my degree at University College Cork. So, it was a ‘no-brainer’ to join Albany Beck and work with this client, while gaining valuable experience as a consultant.  

Having the chance to talk to so many of the key people during interviews brought a personal touch to the process and made me feel part of something special. From the outset, Albany Beck really made me feel that my best interests would be supported – whether that was moving on to a new client at end of the assignment or staying with the current client in a full-time role. 

How has Albany Beck helped you in your career?  

Albany Beck has given me the opportunity to take the next step in my career in Compliance, while opening doors in the Retail Banking market. They have also supported me in my pursuit of a further qualification in the Professional Diploma in Financial Advice (QFA) through their L&D and professional qualification programme. 

What is your current position? 

I am a Senior Advisory Consultant at Albany Beck. I’m currently deployed on a programme via Albany Beck with AIB as a Compliance Advisory Relationship Manager. 

What did you enjoy the most about working for Albany Beck? 

Albany Beck gives both clients and consultants the opportunity to ‘try before you buy’. They work with you to ensure that not only are you the right fit for their client but that their client is the right fit for you. 

Albany Beck also host fun social evenings on the first Thursday of every month in their office, at the Academy on Pearse Street.
