Engagement Managers are critical to our clients’ success. From shaping projects to supporting consultants through their journey with us. Most of our projects go off without an issue, but when challenges do arise, our Engagement Managers are on hand to help resolve them.
In this case, our large banking client wanted to retain the expertise and IP that it had invested in our team by turning our consultants into full-time employees. A core part of the Albany Beck model. But one of the consultants wasn’t completing the day-to-day work as well as they or our client had hoped.
We needed to work closely with them both to identify what was holding the consultant back and preventing them from performing to their highest level. Ultimately, the goal on all sides was to unlock their full potential. Only then would they be considered for a permanent position at the bank.
We assigned one of our highly experienced Engagement Managers to work closely with the consultant and help identify what the areas of development were and how we could solve them together.
The Engagement Manager encouraged an open and honest discussion which pinpointed exactly where the client thought the consultant was struggling, and why the consultant felt the role wasn’t making the best use of their talents.
In response, the Engagement Manager developed an improvement and coaching plan that addressed all of the client’s concerns. It also supported the consultant into a new role in the wider team that better suited their skills and interests.
In a sector where competition for talent is fierce, our Engagement Manager made sure the bank retained a consultant with a huge amount to offer.
This has resulted in several positive outcomes, including:
